Small Business Owners Upset Over Credit Card Fees

Consumers aren't the only ones who are pressing Congress and the President for changes in the credit card industry.

Now retailers are trying to add the interchange fee to the list of controversial credit card practices, because they say it's too high and hurting their business.

Every time you use a credit or debit card at a store, the retailer or merchant has to pay an interchange fee. This covers the cost of the electronic system used to process the payment. The fee is typically two percent.

Many merchants say these fees are higher than necessary.
