American Express Comes To The Rescue of Some Advanta Business Credit Card Customers

Advanta Corp., which closed small business credit-card accounts to new use last week, said in a Friday regulatory filing that it has entered into an agreement with American Express Travel Related Services Co. Inc. to offer some of its customers accounts.

Advanta said it will communicate an invitation to specified customers to apply for a card account with American Express. It said some invitations may come directly from American Express. The agreement is exclusive and lasts for up to 60 days — one year for a limited number of the customers. As part of the agreement, Advanta receives a fee for each account opened by American Express.
